The 1895 Trust to hold joint event with Leeds United trust

The 1895 Trust will hold a joint event with the Leeds United Supporter’s Trust (LUST), on the same day as the Shelbourne – Leeds United XI friendly in Tolka Park.

Gary Cooper, chair of LUST, will talk on the topic: Finding a voice for fans in modern football: Lessons from Leeds United. The event will take place in Smyth’s of Fairview (see here for a map) at 6.30pm on Monday July 29

The event is a product of the unique links which Supporters Direct are facilitating between different Supporters Trusts in Ireland, the UK and Europe.

“We are delighted that we can hold such an event for fans of both clubs and anyone interested in the work of a Supporters Trust. LUST has played a key role in making Leeds fans’ voices heard during what has been a tough time for them. We think there is a lot we can learn from them and a lot they can learn from us as well,” commented Lee Daly, chair of the 1895 Trust.

LUST Chairman Gary Cooper said: “We are delighted at the invite to join our colleagues and friends at the 1895 Trust for this event which brings supporters together regardless of the size or status of their respective clubs. This can only lead to a stronger voice for all supporters as the move to reclaim the game and promote supporter inclusion grows ever stronger”
