The 1895 Trust produces documentary for FARE Week

As part of FARE week, the 1895 Trust, the Supporters Trust for Shelbourne FC fans, has produced a documentary focusing on the career of Mark Rutherford. In the documentary, directed by Trust member Simon Crowe, Rutherford talks about his career in Irish football, how he deals with discrimination and why, in his 40s, he still plays football.

The Trust is also working with Show Racism the Red Card and the FAI at tonight’s game in Tolka Park against Drogheda United to raise awareness of the aims of FARE week amongst fans of both clubs.

Show Racism The Red Card

The 1895 Trust, in conjunction with Shelbourne FC, Show Racism the Red Card, and the FAI, will be engaging with an event at the Drogheda United game this coming Monday. The event is part of FARE week, and is a celebration of the Trust and Shelbourne FC’s commitment to fighting racism in football and society. The trust is looking for volunteers to help unveil a flag on the pitch at half time with an anti-racism message. The Trust and Shelbourne are committed to promoting multiculturalism in the community and on Monday will unveil a documentary focusing on the life of former player Mark Rutherford. We welcome your support and hope all Shels fans will engage with this event.
