Retro Jerseys – In the Post!
We are delighted to let our members and supporters know that all of the retro jerseys have been posted. We want to thank everyone for their patience with this project and helping fund Trust projects. A lot of people have received their jerseys already – we would ask anyone who doesn’t receive their jersey to hold off until Wednesday 23rd February to contact us (for Irish post – one week later for international post).
Will we be selling more jerseys?
Yes – we have some spares that will go on sale next week or the week after – please keep an eye on social media for notice. In addition there will be a full re-run of the sale where people can order any size they like, we hope to do this later in the Spring.
An enormous effort went into getting this project over the line over the last 18 months. It isn’t possible to thank every person individually but special thanks go to Ken Buckmaster and Brian Stafford for the initial setup of the project and liaising with O’Neills, Ciarán Doyne for design work, Eoin Smith for the amazing promo shots and Wes Dillon for modelling for us. In addition, thanks to the current and former committee members and their friends and family who helped with the packing and posting.
Social Media Officer Opening
Our social media followings, especially on Twitter and Instagram have grown to such a point that we really need a dedicated volunteer just for social media. Our most reason PRO Darren Cleary recently stepped away to take on the club SLO role and we have decided to re-define the PRO role to be almost solely social media orientated – we wish Darren the best in his new role.
We would love to hear from any interested supporters – please see a role description here and please pop expressions of interest to us via social media or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org – closing date Friday March 4th.
Save Tolka Park Update
It’s been all go with the STP campaign in 2022. The Trust’s AGM will be coming up soon and we will be asking the membership to endorse the campaign – currently only the committee has done so, but we’d be very confident it will be a resounding vote in favour of what has been a superbly managed campaign – both in person, through the fantastic work of local people in leafleting, canvassing and doing stalls and the innovative work being done on social media. The Trust is really proud to be a part of this campaign and we want to commend STP on their efforts to date.
Dublin City Development Plan – Over 1000 submissions gathered to Save Tolka Park
Over 1000 submissions were collected by the campaign at a number of stalls over the course of January and February. The stalls took place in Drumcondra, Marino and Fairview and the amount of submissions is a resounding mandate for the retention of Tolka Park. Thank you to Trust members and supporters who manned stalls or signed submissions – over to DCC councillors now.
A Night of Songs and Stories to Save Tolka Park
Tickets are still available for this event on March 5th in The Button Factory – featuring Pearl Slattery, For Those I Love and Brian Kerr among others. You can buy tickets and learn more on how to support STP here.

2021 Member Packs
All 1895 Trust members are entitled to a member pack if they paid at least 3 months membership in 2021. We are working on the design of the merch for these packs – we would ask for your patience as the Retro Jersey project has been dominant recently. They are almost complete and will be available for collection and posting soon.
We are preparing our accounts for 2021 and as soon as that process is finalised we will announce a date for our AGM.
